About Me

Thank you for visiting. Music has always been an important part of my life and it's a great pleasure to share my work with others.
Childhood
I was born in 1988 and raised in the regional town of Albury, in N.S.W Australia. I grew up in a musical house. My Mother was a piano teacher and my Father enjoyed singing as did my sisters and older brother.
I studied the piano for many years growing up and also took singing lessons as a young boy and again in my teen years at Albury High School.
Education
In 2007 I began a Bachelor of Music majoring in Classical Voice at the Australian National University studying under Stephen Bennett and Alan Hicks. I graduated with Honours in 2010 and received the Bill Hyslop award for voice.
Whilst studying at A.N.U I was able to perform at some memorable concerts with some remarkable people and musicians. Highlight's of those years include singing solos at the Finnish, Serbian, Polish and Austrian embassies, University House, master classes with Yvonne Kenny at Opera in the Alps (2007 - 2009), three operas, performing the Bass solo of Mozart's Requiem and performing at Government House for the former Australian Governor General, the Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce AD, CVO.
Composing career
In 2011 I was selected as one of eight winners from nine-hundred and eighteen entries to have a composition, Come Sleep, recorded at the Abbey Road Studios in London. This competition celebrated the 80th anniversary of recording in the studios. More information regarding this competition can be found here. Needless to say this experience changed my life and outlook on a musical career. Since then the piece has been performed at several international choral conferences. Countries include Ireland, United Kingdom, Estonia, Australia, U.S.A, Singapore and South Korea.
I have had several pieces published with Santa Barbara Music Publishing. Similarly I have had numerous commissions by choirs such as the Adelaide Chamber Singers, Gondwana National Choirs, East Carolina University Chamber Singers, University of Southern California Thornton Chamber Singers and Santa Barbara City College Choir to name a few.
Choral conducting
In 2016 I graduated with a Master of Music majoring in choral conducting from the Royal Welch College of Music and Drama. This was the culmination of two years of post graduate study in Cardiff with teachers Neil Ferris (BBC Symphony Orchestra Chorus Master) and Dr. Sarah Tenant-Flowers. During my time studying in the U.K I experienced many life changing musical experiences. Notable performances include,
I am currently residing in Melbourne and working as a freelance composer, conductor, accompanist and singing teacher. I hope you will find my website useful and informative. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any enquires. I will endeavour to answer your queries as soon as I can.
